Le Coin du Rocher Dresses Up for Halloween
This year, restaurant Le Coin du Rocher, in the heart of Paris’s 8th arrondissement, has put on its Halloween costume. As soon as you step in, the mood changes: pumpkins, squashes and friendly little spooks have moved into the dining room, without taking anything away from the charm of this wine bistro.
Decor to Thrill You
On the banquette, in front of the big vineyard mural, carved pumpkins glow from within and stand guard. At the bar, a little mummy with a pumpkin head watches over the vases of red flowers, while a skeleton in a top hat, perched on its pumpkin, eyes the wine bottles with a glowing eye. It all bathes in the golden light of the fairy lights running along the mural and across the street-side window.
Nothing gloomy, though: the house’s warm spirit is intact, with the ceiling of vines, the red-shaded lamps and autumn colours, from the orange of the squashes to the deep red of the bottles. A perfect setting for an evening with friends, family or your sweetheart.
In the Kitchen: Autumn Ideas Added to the Menu
For the occasion, Edith has added a few seasonal dishes to the restaurant’s usual menu. They stay on the menu for another 10 days, until 12 November:
- The Halloween Salad, to thrill you with pleasure… What’s in it? That’s a closely guarded secret: you will have to come and find out!
- Pumpkin soup, with croutons and chestnuts
- Sweet potato purée
- Autumn purée: sweet potatoes, carrots and red kuri squash
These dishes complement the bistro cooking that made Le Coin du Rocher’s name, with its traditional dishes and its wine selection. They warm up November evenings and remind us that squash season is also the season of good tables. But hurry: only 10 days left!
